Dear {{accFname}} Nestlé has undertaken a first-of-its-kind neuroimaging study examining the effects of nutrition on myelination in formula-fed infants1. Myelination is a neurodevelopmental process critical for a range of brain functions including general cognitive ability, receptive language, speed of processing, language and memory, and visuospatial working memory. The study formula was used until 12 months of age and featured a unique blend of ingredients known as the Myelin Nutrient Blend. Breastfeeding provides the ideal balanced nutrition and is associated with improved performance in intelligence tests in childhood2. |
Intervention with our Myelin Nutrient Blend shows increased whole-brain myelination vs. Control formula at 12 months (primary outcome) with a sustained benefit up to 24 months |

What is our Myelin Nutrient Blend? While levels of total energy and macronutrients were the same between the formula groups, Myelin Nutrient Blend contained uniquely processed whey protein and higher levels of myelin nutrients. |

{{customRichText}} Hope you have found this information useful. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Warm regards IMPORTANT NOTICE: Breast milk is best for babies and provides idealnutrition. Good maternal nutrition is important for the preparation and maintenance of breastfeeding. Introducing partial bottle feeding could negatively affectbreastfeeding and reversing a decision not to breastfeed is difficult. Professional advice should be followed on infant feeding. Infant formula should be prepared and used exactly as directed or it could pose a health hazard. The preparation requirements and cost of providing infant formula until 12 months of age should be considered before making a decision to formula feed. |
